The sweet potato comes from Central America and is not related to the conventional potato but belongs to the family of tubers. This tuber is with 96 kcal per 100 grams, a low-calorie menu supplement or even a main dish.

In the taste, the sweet potato is somewhat sweeter than the potato known to us. The color of the shell is yellow, orange or dark red depending on the variety. The potato interior can be whitish, yellowish or salmon.

The sweet potato is mainly mealy boiling and can be boiled with the dish and eaten.
